The board of Providence Christian School is pleased to announce that Mrs. Avery Slingerland has accepted the board’s offer of a teaching position at the junior high level at Providence Christian School.
Growing up in the Lethbridge area, Mrs. Slingerland attended Trinity Reformed Church. She finished her education program at the University of Lethbridge this April. She is trained as an English teacher but has demonstrated strengths in various subject areas at the junior high level.
We are very thankful that we have found Mrs. Slingerland willing to accept this position and we are excited about the quality that she will bring to our junior high program. We are confident that she will be a good fit for the Providence Christian School community, and that her training and experience will give her a good opportunity for success in our school.
We are very thankful that we have been able to find a quality junior high teacher for the 2024/2025 school year. This need has often been in the prayers of our families, students, teachers, and board members. We are thankful to our Faithful Father that He hears prayers and that He always provides at His time and in His ways. We confidently trust that Mrs. Slingerland’s work at Providence Christian School will be a blessing for our students and our community.

Hiring Announcement
Monday, March 18th.
The board of Providence Christian School is pleased to announce that Mr. Patrick Harthoorn has accepted the board’s offer of the assistant principal / high school teacher position at Providence Christian School.
Mr. Harthoorn grew up in Coaldale, had his training at the University of Lethbridge, and is currently in his eleventh year of teaching and his third year as assistant principal at Covenant Canadian Reformed School in Neerlandia, Alberta.
We are very thankful that we have found Mr. Harthoorn willing to accept this appointment, and we are looking forward to his active contributions to the school community.
At the start of the 2024/2025 school year, Mr. Harthoorn will assume the assistant principal responsibilities from Miss Angela Feyter as she takes over the principal role. While Mr. Harthoorn’s field of studies is in Maths and Sciences, his teaching load will assume responsibility for many of the senior high school courses.
We are very confident that he will be a good fit for the Providence Christian School community, and that his training and experience will give him a good opportunity for success in our school.
