Principal’s Message
Welcome to a new school year at the Providence Christian School.
30 years ago, some of your grandparents (or even great-grandparents) started this school. They desired that you would be able to attend a school where you are not only taught academic subjects but also a school where Christ is presented as the foundation of your life. They knew that without Christ you can do nothing (John 15:5).
As you enter this school year, be students of prayer. Pray for your teachers. They are busy every day preparing lesson plans, marking and teaching. Pray for your fellow classmates. Many of your classmates are worried about something or are going through a trial. Pray for your bus drivers, support staff, volunteers and custodians.
In this school year, you will experience many reasons for gratitude. Some of these reasons will be obvious: good marks on a test, safety on the roads, teachers that care for you. Other reasons may not be so obvious. Regardless, live in a way that shows your gratitude to God for His great gifts. Avoid murmuring and complaining; instead, treat everyone with kindness and respect. As Psalm 92 states “It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O Most High.”
I encourage you to use your time and opportunities well this year in God’s service, as a work of gratitude to our Him who loves and blesses you.
This handbook has been developed to help you and your parents to know about school policies, procedures and schedules that can help you enjoy good relationships and do well in your work.
God places us in a community of travelers who journey together toward the holy city of Jerusalem. As we travel, let us lean on each other for learning and support, for growth, encouragement, and correction. I pray that our greatest allegiance and dedication this year will be to our Master in whose footsteps we walk.
